WHO ARE THESE GUYS...?

 

BEN ROSEBERRY & CHIP KLOSE are the songwriting team behind the musicals PICTURE PERFECT and FROM THE GROUND UP.  In 2016, they were finalists for the Jonathan Larson Grant and winners of the MAC Wallowitch Award for Songwriting.

CHIP KLOSE (Book & Lyrics) grew up in Philadelphia, got his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of the Arts, and moved to New York City in 2003. Since then he's worked as an actor, director, choreographer, producer, and playwright. From 2005-10 he served as the Artistic Director of Dreamlight Theatre Company, a non-profit dedicated to providing a home for new musicals. During that time they produced dozens of readings, workshops, and concerts, as well as two world premiere musicals: FUGITIVE SONGS (Drama Desk Nomination 2008) and THE EXTRAORDINARY ORDINARY (Drama Desk Nomination 2011).

In addition to the shows he and Ben are writing, Chip also penned the book for HORIZON, a musical currently being developed with Theater Latté Da (Minneapolis, MN) under the guidance of the company's Artistic Director, Peter Rothstein

 

BEN ROSEBERRY (Music & Lyrics) earned his BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster University (St. Louis), and has spent much of the last fifteen years balancing a songwriting career with that of a working actor. He's appeared on Broadway in Disney's THE LION KING, and on tour with RENT, THE LITTLE MERMAID, and GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE... (currently touring the US). 

His band, The Fractured Years, has performed at concert venues all over the city including The Knitting Factory, Sidewalk Cafe, Ars Nova, and Rockwood Music Hall. Their self-titled debut album was released in April, 2016, and is currnently available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
